BGB inaugurated 'Chutipur BOP' at Shyamnagar border in Satkhira to increase operational capacity

Kazi Habib: Nildumur Battalion (17 BGB) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is responsible for increasing the operational capacity of BGB at the border, providing flawless border security and suppressing smuggling, among others.  A BGB BOP has been inaugurated in Chhedipur area bordering Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira to fight cross-border crime. 

On the morning of 01 June BGB Jessore Region Commander Brigadier General Md. Humayun Kabir, PSC was present as the chief guest of Nildumur Battalion (17 BGB). He inaugurated the newly constructed 'Chutipur BOP' under the auspices and visited the responsible area. Acting Sector Commander of Khulna Sector of BGB and Jessore Region Director (Operation) Lt.Col. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Sikder, Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB) Commander Lt Col Md Ashraful Haque, Neeldumur Battalion (17 BGB) Commander Lt Col Md Shahriar Rajeev along with other officers of BGB, junior officers and soldiers of other ranks, other invited guests and journalists of print and electronic media were present.

After inaugurating the BOP, the chief guest visited the free medical campaign conducted by BGB for the local destitute patients and the food assistance program among the poor and needy people at Chhedipur BOP and interacted with the journalists present.
