(Monday, October 14) at 10 am, the Acting High Commissioner of the Australian High Commission in Bangladesh Ms. Nardia Simpson visited the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Meet Shafiqur Rahman in a courtesy call.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Our meeting today was a very cordial and successful meeting. Here we have discussed in detail all the issues related to the existing bilateral interests of the two countries and how we can advance the relationship.
We also talked about how the Australian Government can provide meaningful support in the coming days, especially in our skills development programs. We also discussed what other roles the Australian Government can play as an important development partner for our country.
He also said that many of our people were injured and undergoing treatment in the mass uprising that took place in July-August.I would like to request the Australian Government through the Honorable Australian Acting High Commissioner, that the Australian Government can cooperate in the treatment of all our people who are undergoing treatment for losing their eyes, hands, legs and limbs.We also hope that in the future the Australian government will work for the development, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh, Inshallah.
