July revolution should be highlighted by commission: Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masood

Md. Nasir Uddin (Special correspondent ): Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, member of the central working council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South, said that the history of the July revolution should be revealed before the nation by commission.

Metropolitan South, said that the history of the July revolution should be revealed before
the nation by commission. Those who were martyred and injured should not be forgotten
and their sacrifice should be remembered.
He also said that, Sheikh Hasina will not be spared as the leader of genocide, fascism will
be judged. Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masood expressed his firm belief in the program to
rehabilitate the families of the martyrs and the injured and provide proper treatment to the
injured.
Today (Saturday, September 21) he said this in his speech as the chief guest at the
commemoration ceremony of the July Revolution in honor of the living martyrs who
were shot and injured at the Pushpadam restaurant in Paltan of the capital.
Under the chairmanship of former DIG of Bangladesh Police Anwar Hossain, Assistant
Attorney General of Bangladesh Supreme Court Advocate Mujahidul Islam Shahin and
leaders of Baufal Foundation and Jamaat-e-Islami spoke at the event.
In the President's speech, former DIG of Bangladesh Police Anwar Hossain appealed to
the interim government to recruit the family members of those who were martyred and
injured in the revolution in the police and army.
The injured in the July revolution said in their memoirs that the police fired
indiscriminately in the stomach, eyes, head and various parts of the body. Along with the
police, the Awami League Jubo League also participated in the hellish killings.
The injured said that, this hellish murder should be judged fairly. The fascist government
and its accomplices should be brought under the law. The injured described the police
brutality at various places including Jatrabari, Paltan and Hazaribagh in the capital.
Residents of Baufal among the injured Pabel, Md. Arif Hossain, student of Islamic
University Mujahidul Islam and revolutionaries from different parts of the capital
commemorated the July revolution in the event.Later, Baufal Foundation provided financial assistance to 25 injured people.
