Nasir Uddin (Special Correspondent): AB Party welcomes IRI delegation; interim administration, justice and accountability process discussed.A delegation of International Republican Institute, IRI, a USA based non-governmental organisation, paid a courtesy call at the central office of Amar Bangladesh Party, AB Party, today afternoon(7 October Monday)Joshua Rosenblum, Acting Resident Program Director, Christopher Brennan, acting Resident Program Manager, Amitabh Ghosh, Senior Program Manager, Ruaksana Haque, Program Manager of Bangladesh office, were in attendance. Mojibur Rahman Monju, Member Secretary of the AB Party, Asaduzzaman Fuaad, Zubair Ahmed Bhuiyan, both barrister-at-law and Joint Member Secretary, Abdullah Al Mamun, an advocate of Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Joint Member Secretary, Sunny Abdul Haque, a barrister-at-law and In charge of shadow affairs, Nasreen Sultana Mily, a barrister-at-law and in charge of AB Party women were present form the host delegation.
AB Party updated the delegation about the new generation politics and how the AB Party would like to transform the political landscape through policy based politics. Delegation was briefed about the party activities across the country, future plan of expansion, particularly spreading the organisation beyond the capital. The time is now favourable to work without any fear or intimidation, AB Party told the delegation.
Recent meeting with the Chief Advisor also came up during the conversation. AB Party Secretary updated on the six observations since the interim administration took over and 11 point proposals made to the CA in order to increase public service. General people are experiencing difficulty due to high inflation, unprecedented price hike of everyday commodities, traffic jam in major cities. AB Party explained the extent of difficulty faced by the millions in flood affected areas with severe financial loss.
AB Party also shared their thoughts on seeking truth, justice and accountability of the multiple genocide, crimes against humanity, gross human rights violations and money laundering in billions of USD during the last fallen regime. AB Party remembers the historic sacrifices made by thousands of youths and commit that a new kind of progressive Bangladesh is to be built, a truly second republic and welfare state for everyone.
